Hello and thanks for visiting my website. My name is Pete Turner and I am a double and electric bass player based in Manchester (UK).

I play a range of styles but my main focus over the last ten years has been jazz and improvised music. I have been lucky enough to play with some amazing musicians including John Taylor, Enrico Pieranunzi, Craig Handy, Ali Jackson, Mike Walker, Stuart McCallum, Corinne Bailey Rae, Luke Flowers, John Ellis, Jamil Sheriff amongst many others.

I have worked extensively throughout the UK and recently toured China, and performed in various places in Europe.

I currently play regularly with the Jamil Sheriff Trio which comprises Jamil on piano, Dave Walsh on drum and myself on bass.

I also play with the John Ellis Trio, which is made up of John on piano/keyboards/vocals, Rob Turner (GoGo Penguin) on drums.

Both of these bands have been selected for the Northern Line scheme operated by Jazz North, which has provided funded support, allowing us to play more gigs and develop new material.

I've recently become involved in a new band called 'Henge', which primarily plays electronic/synth based music. This has been a really exiting new challenge as I'm mainly playing keyboard synth bass with a range of effects. Look out for us if you're at Kendal calling or Beatherder festivals this year.
